My area of interest is in engaging students and community members in the process of creative problem solving in the arts, in the classroom and in their environment. Working with students to re-envision the school environment allows for multi-disciplinary hands-on learning and an opportunity to participate in creating an enlivened and artistic environment that helps reveal a sense of possibility and engenders the stewardship of place.
For the last twenty-five years I have taught and developed curricula for public and private schools, community & cultural centers, and social service organizations. Having California Lifetime Teaching Credentials in multi-subject elementary education and secondary arts education I have been a California Arts Council, Artist in Residence, an arts education consultant for UCSD’s Education Studies Department, SD Unified School District, and City Heights Educational Collaborative.
