Students from the New Arrival Center at Monroe Clark Middle School have been working with Lynn Susholtz (Stone Paper Scissors) creating art that tells stories of their travels from their home countries. This spring the students visited Bread & Cie Bakery and Cafe in addition to several galleries, museums, & public art sites. Stone Paper Scissors recently installed the entry gates to Kalos, a new North Park rental community developed by Community Housing Works.  The steel and aluminum entry gates were inspired by the olive branch.

The project was dedicated on May 17, 2013 with honored guests Mayor Bob Filner, City Council President Todd Gloria, and Assembly Majority Leader Toni Atkins.

Food Exchange at the Art Produce garden is a place for people who want to trade their homegrown fruits and vegetables with members of their own community. The idea is to exchange your tomatoes for my potatoes and his eggs for her honey. It doesn't get any fresher, organic or local than this. No store bought goods or money will  be exchanged.

Presented at the San Diego Shambhala Meditation Center, in this video series Pema Chödrön teaches us how to work with our fear and anxiety using gentleness and inquisitiveness. Art Produce Gallery hosted an open party to the community to view Barack Obama's historic address to the Democratic Convention in the Fall of 2008. Over 200 people gathered to view the event in two large screen viewing areas in the Gallery, share delicious food, and make new friends. View photos.
