Inner World
Gabrielle Berens November 24 to December 18, 2025 Reception: Saturday, December 6th 4-7pm “Our inner world is every bit as interesting, beautiful, and surprising as nature itself. It is, after all, born of nature.” -Rick Rubin What does our inner world look like? What does it mean to be born of nature? These layered biomorphic works reference and mimic organic growth patterns and processes of metamorphosis in nature. I am interested in how we, as humans, experience the very same patterns as all of the natural world around us. We exist in layers, we live in a constant state of change, we grow, we adapt, we are remarkably complex. At times we are transparent, other times opaque. Inner World combines ceramics, textiles, and printmaking processes to create immersive and curious compositions that allude to the mysterious nature of our inner world. What happens when we pay attention to our inner world? |
