June/July 2019 Class Offerings:
June 22nd - Watercolor in the Garden
Using the plants from the garden as source inspiration for our paintings, we'll create beautiful, summer watercolors.
June 29th - Clay Hand-building
Make pinch pots, creatures, vessels, tiles, and whistles with basic hand-building techniques, and take home your air-dry objects.
July 6th - Self Portraits
We'll begin the Self Portrait workshop by loosening up with a blind contour activity, having fun while drawing our partner's faces. Then using mirrors, we'll draw and paint our faces to make self portraits!
July 13th - Marbling with Pride
Join Yellowbird Expressive Arts and learn the fun and flowing technique of marbling. We will work with the themes of love and pride through color and word choices, and you will walk away with a piece that’s ready to hang in your home, classroom or office!
July 20th: Make Your Own Talisman (good luck charm)
We'll be painting our hand prints to make hanging good luck charms that can hang in your car or home. Talismans are are thought to bring good fortune, including good health, and protection from bad fortune or illness. Each workshop participant will leave with a personalized good luck charm!
July 27th - Clay in the Garden
Wear clothes that you don't mind getting dirty! In this clay workshop we'll spend time in the garden learning multiple clay techniques. We'll practice throwing pots and plates on the wheel as well as coiling and building styles. We won't be firing any works, all clay will dry in the sun, with the option to paint your piece and take it home!
