I Sing the Body Electric explores how female pleasure and expectations have been facilitated and controlled by patriarchal devices. The vibrating slimming belt machine incorporated within the performance is a metaphor for the relentless power of a patriarchal structure and the absurdity of fulfilling societal expectations.

Allison Beaudry is a multi-media sculpture and performance artist who lives and works in Vista, Ca. alongside her husband and two backyard chickens.
