Once Upon A Body
July to November 2017

During local artist Bhavna Mehta's residency at Art Produce, she created wearable paper sculptures from ideas and images gathered from objects and stories of community participants. Community members engaged in art making workshops, open studio, and story-sharing sessions from July to September, then helped design intricately cut and folded paper creations to be worn and exhibited in a multimedia performance on November 18th, transforming stories into visual memories. The project culminates in January 2018 with artwork and documentation displayed in storefront windows and banners throughout the community.
