About Cambria and Stephen’s Residency at Art Produce:

Allelo is a devised movement theatre piece that explores nature (in all of its grace and violence alike) as a source of healing that has been lost and must be regained. Informed by flora and fauna in the local Kumeyaay land, queer perspectives on pain and healing, and Art Produce’s edible garden itself, Allelo is a completely original experience where we all come together, breathe deeply, and find a healing way forward as a community.

About the Artist:

Cambria Herrera and Stephen Loftesnes:

These co-directors are friends who met through the UCSD Theatre and Dance Department but bonded through the only things complicated enough to express their queer healing: art and walks in the woods. Stephen brings an emphasis on experimental music-based performances and Cambria a focus on cross-cultural performance that uplifts the resiliency of BIPOC people and traditions. Together they seek to push the boundaries of performance through health-focused rehearsal processes and surprising performance styles.
