About the Exhibition:
Collective Magpie presents: Adónde vas? and What do we notice? an exhibition of what 65 students at High Tech High Media Arts would each like the residents of San Diego to notice, care about and change about the world we live in right now. Each student determined the social cause that is most important to them and created their own mural - designed to have a critical impact on those who see it. These murals were then constructed in the form of 3-dimensional architectural models allowing the viewer to see what the artwork looks like on a building. Art Produce gallery, these artworks and more become part of a hand-painted mural that fill the walls of an interactive exhibit that asks us to urgently consider our role, agency and responsibility to our shared future.
All artworks displayed were produced as a result of a 3-month experimental multimedia course with MR Barnadas of Collective Magpie at High Tech High Media Arts. These freshman and senior students are residents from every zip code in San Diego; together they represent and are our city.
