Daphne Hill

Picture
Worth a Shot
September 26 to November 8, 2015

Opening Reception ~ Saturday, September 26 6-9pm

Mixed media paintings about HPV, the cancers we can prevent with a vaccine, and how denial and misinformation often hinder efforts to make life better for pre-coital youth.

Daphne Hill was born in Virginia, grew up in the country, received her BFA from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, then earned her MFA from Claremont Graduate University. She is inordinately fascinated by pathology, and much of her work is about zoonoses (diseases transmitted from animals to humans) and sexually transmitted diseases and infections. She is currently producing a series of work about HPV and its cancer preventing vaccine which is recommended for most children.
