Pasquale Verdicchio

Picture
Born in Naples, Italy, Pasquale has lived in Vancouver and Victoria, Canada. Currently, he lives in San Diego where he teaches literature and visual cultures in the Dept of Literature at UC San Diego. He has published poetry, translations and essays in US, Canada and Europe, and has shown in US, Canada and Italy.

"My artwork is merely an extension of all my other activities. Writing, teaching, talking, traveling and more all feed into each other. I find it hard to distinguish one activity from another and so they also blend and reform each other, and my own temporary perceptions of my work and myself as I do it. Because of this my work tends to be more aptly defined as "multi-media" than anything else. Possibly, more than the final product, what I find most attractive in art and writing is that meditative space that is not the page, the canvas, the paper or the viewfinder but something and somewhere right about 'there'..."
