"For years I have kept a garden plot at the Juniper/Ivy Community Gardens in Bankers Hill. Most gardeners grow vegetables, but I am obsessed with growing flowers; I am in awe that poppies grow in January. My paintings are about my garden – the colors, shapes, and the love I have for the beauty of flowers."

About the Artist:
Prudence is an artist and arts educator. Her working studio is in Little Italy where she creates her abstract landscapes which focus on water and her garden. Prudence teaches Art History and Studio Arts at San Diego City College and Southwestern College. She received a BA from Trinity College, Hartford, CT and MFA from Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, NY and has also been awarded many grants and residency opportunities.
