Art Produce: Where Culture Meets Community By Elizabeth Silva September 16, 2016 We all know kiddos are naturally creative. Maybe they’ve found an artistic passion squishing through their pudgy little fingers on a pottery wheel. Maybe inspiration comes on a drawing pad or into the creation of a finger puppet. Whether your wee ones love to sculpt, build, paint, weave or draw, they’ll find something to create and call their very own at Art Produce’s Community Art Classes. And for you, Parents? We’ll meet you in the urban garden, the Gallery, the tasting room or eatery. Read on to find out why Art Produce has it all! Drop-in Yoga for Kids - Ages 5-12 July 9 through August 27, 2016 Saturdays 12:45-1:30pm $10/class Yoga for Kids, taught by Emily Stark, will introduce your child to the benefits of yoga through games, songs and stretching. The class will help your child gain body awareness, coping skills, gratitude and personal strength. Your child will learn yoga postures (asana) and breath work (pranayama) through playful, lighthearted instruction. Please bring a mat, water, and wear comfortable clothes. About the Instructor: Emily Stark has been practicing yoga for over a decade and is the founder of Nuture Private Yoga, which offers in-home private yoga instruction and specializes in prenatal yoga. Yoga has had many positive impacts on Emily's life, including improved flexibility and body awareness, and creating a calmer and more joyful mind and spirit. Emily has been teaching yoga for over six years and she completed an RYT 200 Immersion Teacher Training in 2010. In the years thereafter, she continued her training and became certified to teach a variety of styles including: Vinyasa, Hatha, Kids Yoga, Baby and Me, Prenatal/Postnatal, and Healthy Back Yoga . In addition, Emily hold a B.A. in Child Development and a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction. She has applied her knowledge through serving hundreds of families through yoga, education and counseling. Emily is known for her kind hearted, gentle teaching methods and she focuses on body awareness through attentive instruction and supportive assists. Emily encourages her students to understand their unique body and follow their breath and heart. |
