The Art of Human Being explores genuine embodiment and the unique cultural matrix of place through engagement and inclusion. All will be invited to join an open score featuring elements of performance and play. How will you embrace your authentic state of human being?

Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes! About the Artist: Lara Binder is a bi-coastal artist with extensive experience as a professional dancer, actress, teacher, producer and choreographer. In 2005 Lara graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from San Diego State University and was named the Outstanding Graduate in Dance. She was later named the 2012 Dance Alumni of the Year for SDSU. While living in Florida she performed and choreographed for The Braided Light Dance Project, Jacksonville Dance Theater and Creatively Independent. She has served as a faculty member at Douglas Anderson School for the Performing Arts and Jacksonville University and currently teaches at the Malashock Dance School. She continues to perform nationwide and internationally with the Malashock Dance Company and Mojalet Dance Collective. In 2011, she founded and has served as the Artistic Director of B-Dance, a contemporary dance company. She is also the co-founder and producer for IGNITE, an annual choreography showcase in San Diego, California. Currently, Lara is working towards her MFA in choreography at Jacksonville University and will soon present her culminating thesis, a site-specific dance event entitled, The Art of Human Being in the garden of Art Produce in North Park, California.
